Protecting those who protect the public
Monday, July 03, 2017
Every day, police officers work to protect and serve the public. Sometimes their lives are put at risk while in the line of duty.
Blake Waldrop, a former marine and police officer, started RMA Armament out of his garage in 2011 because he wanted to better protect law enforcement and military personnel from fatal gun violence. The body armor manufacturer expanded into the former Centerville National Guard Armory, a 20,000 square foot facility, in 2016.
RMA has received Iowa Economic Development Authority financial assistance and tax benefits. Twenty jobs are expected from the expansion. RMA Armament’s body armor has been tested by the National Institute of Justice and was deemed superior to any other product on the market.
