Research has demonstrated the many benefits of parks for health and wellness. People who regularly visit parks are leaner and tend visit the doctor less. At a time when childhood obesity has reached an epidemic, outdoor recreation is particularly important for youth.
For these reasons and more, the City of Centerville invested $80,000 in new playground equipment for Morgan Cline City Park. In August of 2015, the city and the parks board got together with a number of area businesses and individual volunteers to construct the new playground.
