Giving homeowners a hand

Experts advise setting aside 1 percent of the purchase price of your home for ongoing maintenance. But that’s easier said than done. It’s easy for new homeowners to get sidelined by the cost of upkeep and repairs.
As a charter board member for the Chariton Valley Housing Regional Trust Fund, AEDC is invested ensuring access to safe and affordable housing. Through this fund, homeowners in Appanoose, Lucas, Monroe, or Wayne counties can qualify grants or loans up to $7,500.
Funding can be used for repairs to roofs, windows, siding, electrical updates, insulation, furnace replacements, plumbing repairs and more.
