Owl Pharmacy has a longevity that many businesses aspire to. Founded by R.A. McKee in 1893 as part of The Continental Hotel, the pharmacy is the oldest business in the historic Centerville Town Square. It is located on the east side of the Square.
In 2014, Owl Pharmacy reached another longevity milestone. That year, the business celebrated its 50th year of ownership by the Reznicek family. Rollie Reznicek purchased Owl Pharmacy in 1964 and ran it until 1992, when his son Frank Reznicek took over the business. Frank remains at the helm, running a full-service pharmacy and gift shop, although Rollie still works there part-time. Both father and son are licensed pharmacists. The pharmacy employs approximately 15 people. As a locally-owned pharmacy, Frank has been known to take customer calls after-hours to provide them the service they need.
Rollie & Lucy Reznicek are members of the Appanoose Economic Development Corporation at the level of Friend of AEDC.
