Monday, February 22, 2016
Jef-Scot Metal Industries is a foundry in Centerville, Iowa, that “makes sand and clay mold aluminium castings for companies like John Deere in Ottumwa and Emerson Electric.” (http://ow.ly/Xypid) The company is one branch of Tri-State Cast Technologies Co., Inc. based in Boyne City, Michigan.
In 2010, Jef-Scot Metal Industries received an Economic Development Set-Aside grant in order to expand. Phase I of the expansion included a 30-foot addition on the north side of its facility at 13th and Madison in Centerville. Phase II of the expansion, which will reach fruition in 2015, meant a consolidation of heat treating and machining processes from Tri-State’s Kansas and Florida plants to Jef-Scot in Centerville. The two phases of expansion have also included an increase in employees at Jef-Scot.
Jef-Scot Metal Industries is a member of the Appanoose Economic Development Corporation at the level of Business Leader.
