Monday, September 28, 2015
In 2012, Outdoor Life magazine compiled a list of the top 35 towns for hunting and fishing in the United States. Centerville, Iowa, ranked number 5 on the list, cited for its year-round sportsmen’s opportunities, including deer, waterfowl and turkey hunting, and fishing in Rathbun Lake.
Outdoor Life also lauded Centerville for its Town Square and the friendliness of residents. The magazine mentioned that Centerville is “the original home of groundbreaking Knight muzzleloading rifles.”
Even though Outdoor Life’s list is a few years old, Centerville and Appanoose County continue to offer plenty of hunting and fishing opportunities. To get started planning your sporting vacation in the area, visit http://www.centerville-ia.com/pages/RathbunLake/.
