Strengthening a town’s core

Monday, October 09, 2017

A community is only as strong as its core. The most vibrant small towns have a main street, downtown or central gathering place with an array of successful businesses.

Centerville has the largest town square in the state. The city has placed a priority on the revitalization of this unique community space over the past three decades. That hard work is now paying off. The Historic Square District is becoming a bustling hub that supports a number of fine restaurants and boutiques.

The downtown district was recently named third best in the state for shopping by the Iowa Tourism Office. It’s the perfect place to start your holiday shopping.

You’ll find a variety of unique gifts, from antiques to clothing and home decor.
