Jobs for veterans
Monday, July 31, 2017
Each year 200,000 veterans of military service make the transition back to civilian life. Leaders in Iowa recognized an opportunity to honor veterans and bridge the state’s skills gap by developing a program to welcome them with jobs and other incentives.
Appanoose County and the city of Centerville are proud to be part of the Homebase Iowa program. A variety of area businesses have pledged to employ veterans and transitioning service members. Jobs are available in manufacturing, public service, health care and more.
Homebase Iowa offers travel vouchers to cover up to $250 for gas, food and lodging when veterans visit Appanoose County for interviews.
